Rather than reviewing some of the newer apps, I wanted to take a few segments and review some of the more essential utilities needed for new Mac users. A feature missing from OSX is the ability to easily and efficiently burn CDs/DVDs. Burn is absolutely free and open source. Burn also uses a lot of great free open source utilities to make it tick. Utilities: ffmpeg, lame, liba52, movtoy4m, movtowav, vcdimager, dvdauthor, spumux.
The instructions below are specific to the Disk Utility program available on the Mac OSX Operating System on the Macintosh computers in IT Computer Classrooms. Even if your computer has a different version of Mac OS X, these instructions should provide a general guide for completing this process. Refer to the documentation provided with your Mac operating system software if you need more specific information. Burn a DMG or ISO File to Disk After you have downloaded a program's installation file ( *.dmg format for a Mac-compatible program, *.iso format for a Windows-compatible program) to a Macintosh computer's hard drive, you can burn this *.dmg or *.iso file to a blank CD or DVD. You can use this disk to install the program on another computer, or have a backup installation disk in case you need to reinstall the program in the future.

You can use a Mac to burn an *.iso file to a disk, and the resulting installation disk will run properly on a Windows computer. Dmg or.iso files that are larger than 4.7 GB, you will need to use dual layer DVD. See for more information about different types of recordable DVDs. To burn a DMG or ISO File to disk: • Start Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility. The Disk Utility window will open. The Mac's available drives (e.g., hard drive partitions, CD/DVD drive) will be listed by name in the left pane. • Insert a blank CD or DVD disc into the Mac CD/DVD drive.

In e10s however, the cursor never disappears in the first place. So, even though the security issue isn't present in e10s, we fail to hide the cursor. I haven't had the chance to look into this in detail yet, but would you happen to know if your patch might only work in e10s?
Do you have any thoughts on making it e10s compatible? Maybe more importantly, do you know if the regression of 60 FPS recomposites is still present in e10s that you intended to fix in?
4 years ago As of [1], the security issue reported here is no longer reproducible because the cursor no longer disappears when hovered over the Flash object. [2] later fixed this in that the mouse starts disappearing again when appropriate, but it also reappears when the div is moved over the Flash object, so the security issue reported here remains not reproducible. I've reduced the test case and opened to track the remaining e10s issue of the cursor not disappearing when hovered over the Flash object when it should.
I'm marking this bug as WFM, but we shouldn't open it until (and ideally ) become part of our release branch and most likely ESR. Many of the customers I work with are currently making their way through an Office 365 technical pilot that needs to include Mac OS X machines as well as various versions of Windows. The most common problem that I see with Mac's is with certficates, i.e customer has chosen to use internal CA to provide their ADFS certificate and not installed the root CA certificate chain onto the Mac the other really common problem is where the UPN does not match the SMTP name, this causes a huge amount of end user confusion, remember that if you are using ADFS you need to login with your UPN not your SMTP name (They are not necessarily the same!). As a test I often try to use a managed account to bypass the ADFS infrastructure, i.e use one of your @.onmicrosoft.com acccounts to test Lync before trying a federated account. Someone said they were watching network traffic and the Lync 2011 client would start looking at their internal AD then time out. There is no reason it should be doing that on a cloud based service. Again, Microsoft should have thought about a more open beta like is typical rather than releasing something and creating confusion or forcing us to call support.

BTW: some are saying that 365 is not ready for Lync 2011 yet. Again, why would there be a client release if this were the case, and it sure seems to be working for you. I called 365 support today on this. I was told the official word is Lync 2011 for Mac does NOT work with 365.
